'Bonkers and bibs' will set the tone of the event as the Rotary Parksville AM presents its 14th annual Crabfest, an evening of family fun and casual dining. Crabfest takes place July 10th, from 4:30-9 PM at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre. For a $30 admission fee, diners will receive a specialty crab dinner fresh from our Oceanside waters, supplied by Kim Mauriks of Seafood 4 Life, complete with bonker and bib, and all the fixings.

With a fine meal, followed by raffles, draws and door prizes, Crabfest is guaranteed to be an enjoyable and affordable evening for local resident and tourists alike. But Crabfest has an equally important objective as a major fundraiser to support the charitable works of Rotary, both locally and internationally.

Current charitable and humanitarian efforts supported by the Rotary Club of Parksville include Coats for Kids, the ALS Walk, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), the Rotary Peace Park, Parksville Scouts, Girl Guides, Nanaimo Cystic Fibrosis, the Nanaimo & District Hospital, Milner Gardens, a number of literacy efforts in the community, and various international projects including PolioPlus and Shelterbox Canada which aids victims of disaster throughout the world.

With attendance limited to 450 eager crab eaters, purchase of advance tickets is encouraged. These are available from Bluenose Motor Co., Coast Realty Group, Marlin Travel, the Mulberry Book Stores in Qualicum Beach and Parksville, Qualicum Beach Visitor Centre, Close to You, the Skylite Motel, or from any member of the Parksville AM Rotary Club.
