The Rotary Club of Parksville AM is pleased to honour Mike Gillen of Kestrel Helicopters with a Paul Harris Fellowship for his efforts in removing the garbage on Little Mountain.   Click here for the story of how this all began.

The debris that has accumulated at the base of Little Mountain is inaccessible by road and the only way to remove it is through a helicopter lift.  Rotary and the residents of Little Mountain are indebted to Mike for his generosity in helping to ensure that Little Mountain is returned to its pristine state.

After two successful efforts where about two-thirds of the garbage was removed, we are now poised to complete the job.  Work parties to load nets and bags will be held on:
  • March 14th at 10:00 am
  • April 25th at 10:00 am
The final lift will take place on Sunday May 3, to be preceded by loading of nets and ropes the day before (Saturday May 2, again at 10:00 am).  Anyone interested in volunteering in this effort may send an email through the Contact Us link on this page.  All help will be gratefully accepted!
