Rotary Team Mexico: Day 6

With thanks to Team members Jane Walker, Diane Luke and Bill Rawlins for taking the time at the end of each exhausting day to supply write-ups and photos so we can all share in this experience.
Everyone put in an exceptional effort today and much was accomplished.  The building is taking shape!
We finished skim coating the interior ( bathrooms and shower) and drywalling continued in the classrooms with only the ceiling to be done. Tonight, taping and mudding of the kitchen ceiling and classroom walls is being done in prep for sanding and painting tomorrow. The bathrooms and office are all that are left to be wired. The kitchen and dining room were cleared out and the smooth coated block walls were painted.
Gord and Carol have completed the construction of a very large shelving unit for the kitchen which will be installed tomorrow.  Photos below show Gord admiring their handiwork, followed by the "three amigos" (Ray, Jo and Gord) placing it into position.
Fascia has been completed and the masonry crew has done the prep work for installation of the windows.  In the photo below, Chewy, a local worker is having fun while working on the windows.
Below are Live Different Coordinator, Dawn Bernardi with two women who will be working out of this building once it is finished.  And lets not forget the little niƱo who will be one of the recipients of the many programs and services to be offered there!
The reward at the end of our day was going out to Smokey's for delicious tacos followed up by a visit to an ice cream parlour.
